Funeral services for Wynell P. Henson, 85, of Edgewood, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time. Burial will be at Small Cemetery.
Wynell passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at her home.
Pansy Wynell Phillips was born on June 27, 1935, in Edgewood, Texas, to parents, Egbert Greer Phillips and Opal Christine Whitfield Phillips. She was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1953. Wynell married Charles Edward Henson on January 17, 1953, and they lived in Edgewood until moving to Dallas and Arlington in 1960. She was a homemaker and worked for an insurance agency as a young woman. Wynell was also a seamstress making drapes while living in Arlington and later opened her own drapery business. She was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church. Wynell loved to craft, crochet, sew and can fruits and veggies. She also enjoyed camping and traveling.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Greer and Christine Phillips; husband, Ed Henson; brother, Max Phillips.
Wynell is survived by her son, Eddie Henson and wife, LeNeva of Fort Worth, TX; daughters, Kathy Henson Griffin of Fort Worth, TX, and Cynthia Henson Spurgeon and husband, Andy of Edgewood, TX; step-son, Gary Henson of Edgewood, TX; step-daughter, Joyce Henson of Edgewood, TX; brothers-in-law, Joe Howard Henson and wife, Ann of Terrell, TX, and William Henson and wife, Sherry of Edgewood, TX; sisters-in-law, Patricia Williams and husband, John of Duncanville, TX, and Loretta Phillips of Vidor, TX; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
