Wilma Spradlin Obituary

Monday morning (June 8, 2020) Wilma Lee Nabors Spradlin, peacefully passed from this life to her eternal life with God. Wilma was born, February 13, 1935 in Kilgore, Texas to the late Clifton Nabors and Panzy Dillard Nabors.  After her mother’s untimely death she and her sister, the late Shirlene Curnutt, were raised by her grandparents, John and Bell Nabors. She graduated from Whitehouse High. She was a Christian and a member of Tatum First Baptist Church.

Wilma married, John Eugene Spradlin and they lived in the Dallas area (while working in the insurance industry) for many years until moving to Edgewood, TX.  They had two children; Linda Kay Spradlin and John Sherman Spradlin, who along with her parents, grandparents, sister, husband and many others she joined in heaven on Monday.

After her husband’s death, Wilma moved to the Tatum area to be closer to her sister.  When Wilma became unable to live alone she moved to The Willows Nursing Home in Kilgore.  She loved everyone at The Willows and would often say, “I love it here!”  Thank you to the entire staff for their kindness and love for Wilma during her last few years of life.

Wilma is survived by sister-in-law Reta J. Spradlin, brother-in-law Sam Curnutt, niece, Reta L. Spradlin and nephew, Leslie E. Spradlin, several great-nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.

Wilma was laid to rest Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at Barrett Cemetery.
