Funeral services for William “Thomas” Rogers, 85, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow the service at Small Cemetery.
Thomas passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in Dallas.
William Thomas Rogers was born on November 17, 1940, in Dallas, TX, to parents, Clarence Edward Rogers and Bertha Viola Cohea Rogers. He was raised in Fairfield at the Daniel Children’s Home and later graduated from Duncanville High School. Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed at both Ft. Hood and in Hawaii.
He married Linda Kay Hall in Garland, where they made their home. Thomas was employed by Sales Mart, where he worked in marketing, traveling, resetting, and merchandising new stores for many years before retiring in 2004. After retirement, he continued working part-time jobs before moving to Edgewood in 2012. Thomas was of the Christian faith and enjoyed watching ministry programs on television on Sundays. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing and bowling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Bertha Rogers; brothers, Walter Rogers, Roy Rogers, and Bobby Rogers; and sisters, Ruth Shaver, Ann Higginbotham, Dorothy Rogers, Ida Rogers, and Ruby Turner.
Thomas is survived by his son, Eric Thomas Rogers of San Antonio, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members.
