Funeral services for William “Bill” Ray Turner, 92, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, February 3, 2020, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Restland Cemetery in Dallas.
Bill passed away Tuesday, 28, 2020, in Rowlett.
William Ray Turner was born on January 5, 1928, in Richardson, TX, to parents, Sam N. Turner and Ethel May Nelson Turner. Bill married Willadene Stone on July 11, 1981, in Garland where they made their home until moving to Edgewood in 1993. He worked as a meat cutter for Kroger for thirty-seven years in Dallas before retiring. Bill was a cracker-jack softball pitcher when he was a young man. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, golf and playing softball. Bill was a member of Seven Oaks Baptist Church in Wills Point.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ethel Turner; brothers, Leroy Turner, Harvey Turner and Royce Turner; sisters, Thelma Brown and Faye Fritz; step-son, David Stone.
Bill is survived by his wife, Willadene Turner of Edgewood; daughters, Shirley Ranken and husband, Ellis of Farmers Branch, TX, and Linda Willis and husband, Richard of Garland, TX; son, Alan Turner and wife, Lisa of Allen, TX; step-son, Daniel Stone, Sr. and wife, Holly of Lufkin, TX; brother, Paul Turner and wife, Ruby of Edgewood, TX; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
