Wanda Ellen Heddin

Funeral services for Wanda Heddin, 79, of Edgewood, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Creagleville Cemetery.

Wanda passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026.

Wanda Ellen Hogue was born March 25, 1946, in Grand Saline, Texas, to Robert Edward Hogue and Bernice Hazelwood Hogue. She graduated from Wilmer Hutchins High School. Wanda was the proud mother of two sons, Robert Whaley and James Hogue.

She was employed by AT&T for more than 30 years, retiring in 2001. In retirement, Wanda enjoyed the companionship of her dogs, quilting, and traveling. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Edgewood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bernice Hogue; brothers, Robert D. “Hoppy” Hogue, James E. “Pete” Hogue, and Wilton Hogue; and her sister, Brenda Rhea.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Robert Lee Whaley and wife Kim, and James Hogue and wife Shannon; grandchildren, Brittany Russell and family, Silas Whaley and family, Abigail Whaley, Bobby Hogue and family, and Katelyn Moos and family; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
