Vida Sue Coker, 83, of Edgewood, Texas, passed away on June 28, 2024, in Tyler, TX. She was born on November 11, 1940, in Dallas, TX, to the late Veay Lee Pogue and Gracie Evelyn Moore Pogue.

Sue married B.C. Coker, Jr. on September 24, 1960, and they established their home in Dallas and Mesquite before relocating to Edgewood in 1973. She dedicated many years to her work as a seamstress, initially in Dallas and later at the Edgewood Sewing Room.

Sue had a passion for gardening, decorating, and attending garage and estate sales. Sue was very loving and had a giving heart, and brought joy to all those around her.  She loved cooking and singing in church on the praise team. Sue was a woman of great faith.  She loved and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.  She loved her family, daughter and grandchildren very much.  Sue was a wonderful mother and a great MawMaw.  She would bring life to the party and love to have a good time.  Sue and BC were apart of a group called “ The Rowdy Bunch”.  They would all take their RV Campers and travel the countryside.  There are so many stories to tell. Sue will be greatly missed by all who loved her, but we all find comfort in knowing that we will see her again.

She was preceded in death by her husband, B.C. Coker, Jr. in 2010, and several siblings.

Vida Sue is survived by her loving daughter, Melody Barrett, and son-in-law Larry of Canton, TX; grandchildren Tasha Danielle Jones and Grayson Lee Jones; brothers Larry Pogue , Paul Pogue and wife Judy, along with sister Lynn Chambers, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
