Graveside services for Tommy Gene Hunter, 82, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Myrtle Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, July 8, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral in Wills Point.
Tommy passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022.
Tommy Gene Hunter was born on July 23, 1939, in Marlin, TX, to Thomas Jefferson Hunter and Dorothy Jean McCarver Hunter. He was raised in Marlin where he graduated from high school. Tommy married Ruby “Margaret” Martin on October 15, 1972, in Arlington. He and Ruby bought a place in 1982, in Euless where they made their home until moving to Wills Point in 2001. Tommy was employed by American Airlines for 32 and a half years. He was a member of Cana Baptist Church. Tommy enjoyed slot machines at the casinos, fishing and loved working his livestock.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Hunter; daughter, Jeanette Stimmel; step-son, William Terry Howard; brothers, David Hunter, John Hunter and Elmer Hunter.
Tommy is survived by his daughters, Anita Clark and husband, Rex of Quinlan, TX, Melanie Holifield and husband, Steve of Lott, TX, and Annette Robinson and husband, Ray Rios of Arlington, TX; step-son, Jerry Merrit and wife, Susan of Mabank, TX; son-in-law, David Stimmel of Lott, TX; brothers, Jerry Hunter and wife, JoAnn of Grand Saline, TX, and Larry Hunter and wife Vicki of Ferris, TX; sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
