Sylvia Gladys Ramzy

Funeral services for Sylvia Gladys Ramzy, 90, of Edgewood, TX, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Monday, September 12, 2022, at Bright Star Baptist Church in Wills Point. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.  

Sylvia passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022, in Grand Saline.

Sylvia Gail Moon was born on July 15, 1932, in Milburn, OK, to parents Clifford Cameron Moon and Nillie Ann Van Huss Moon. She was raised in Milburn, OK, where she graduated high school. Sylvia married Johnnie Ramzy on December 23, 1950. He preceded her in death. Sylvia was employed by the J.C. Penney Co. in sales for 29 years before retiring. She had been in the Edgewood community since 1996. Sylvia was a member of the First Baptist Church in Edgewood. She enjoyed crocheting and loved to cook.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Nillie Moon; husband, Johnnie D. Ramzy; daughter, Doris Viskil; son, Richard Ramzy; son, Randall Ramzy; brother, Johnny Moon; sister, Rebecca McGuire; brother, Oscar Richard Moon; sister, Sarah Moon Mullins; granddaughter, Elizabeth Athena Ramzy.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Andy Ramzy and wife, Cynthia of Edgewood, TX; sister, Bobbye Glaze of Duncanville, TX; son-in-law, Henk Viskil of Pensacola, FL; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
