Sue Anne had a great love for her children and grandchildren and was known as Nana. She passed away November 5 after battling some health issues for the past several years. She was born on December 31, 1947, in Jackson, Mississippi.
Her journey through life took her to some amazing places and she achieved amazing things. She had a deep love for the southern states of Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee… she graduated from high school in 1965 and attended Auburn University before transferring to Louisiana State University. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta national sorority. She loved sports and was fiercely competitive, especially when it came to her kids and grandkids. She was the Georgia State High School typing champion, and she had a career as one of the best legal secretaries her bosses had ever had the pleasure of working with. She loved crafts. She was an amazing cook and she could tell you the name of just about any green plant in the region.
Sue Anne was a volunteer, Sunday school teacher, ran her own in-home daycare, active in her churches, and loved Mississippi family reunions.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. Humphries and Sue Martin Humphries.
She is survived by her ex-husband Don Mullen of Royse City, daughter Amy Mullen of Rockwall, son Scott and daughter-in-law Kelsey of Rockwall, and son Steve and daughter-in-law Natalie of Baton Rouge, LA, as well as grandchildren Amelia, Mallory, Nolen, and Tyler. Also survived by brother Tim Humphries and wife Kathy, brother Mark Humphries and wife Janey, and brother Tom Humphries and wife Erma as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Although in later life, Sue was distanced from her family, she was a fantastic mom, sister, cousin, wife and will be missed dearly.
