Sterline Ann Reid, born on March 23rd, 1954, at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX, departed this world on December 21st, 2023, at the age of 69, surrounded by her loved ones at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in North Carolina.
Affectionately known as "Tiny" due to her early arrival into the world, Sterline weighed just shy of 3lbs, captivating the hearts of her family. The third of five children of Anna and Howard Reid, she grew up on a charming country farm alongside her siblings Gerald, Ron, Joanette, and Debbie. Sterline cherished her childhood, especially her time spent riding horses and competing in barrel races.
After graduating from Edgewood High School, Sterline fearlessly followed in her father's footsteps, becoming a police officer. She served alongside him on the force and considered her role in law enforcement as one of her greatest achievements. Despite her petite stature, Sterline's determination and courage led her to handle some of Edgewood's most dangerous criminals. She even collaborated with the iconic Texas Rangers on various cases.
Sterline's life took a new direction when she decided to trade in her gun and badge for bottles and pacifiers. Devoting herself to raising her three children – Ryan, Kasey, and Walter – Sterline earned the title of the greatest mom of all time in their eyes.
At 69, Sterline left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her son Walter, daughter Kasey, and son-in-law Justin. Sterline leaves behind her brothers, sisters, two sons, daughter, and grandchildren.
Her generosity, love, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of Sterline's life will be held on Friday, January 12th, at 11 am at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood, TX. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. The family welcomes flowers and cards to be sent to the funeral home.
