It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rosa Curtis Davis on July 22, 2023. Rosa was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many during her time with us. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Rosa was born on November 20, 1939, to her loving parents, Charles Ragan Curtis Sr. and Lucille Laney Curtis, in a family filled with love and joy.
Rosa's journey in her professional life seems to have been quite fulfilling and diverse. Initially, she pursued her passion for beauty and obtained a beautician's license, which allowed her to work at Faye’s Beauty Shop. This experience likely involved working with clients, providing various beauty services, and helping people feel more confident in their appearance.
However, Rosa's passion for nurturing young minds led her to a fulfilling career as a teacher at the Russell Memorial Methodist Church Day School and later at Terrell State Hospital, where she worked with children and made a positive impact on their lives.
In her spare time, Rosa indulged in various hobbies that brought her immense joy. She had a deep love for reading, engaging in trivia, and watching cooking shows, which she complemented with her passion for reading cookbooks and experimenting in the kitchen. Rosa's musical talent graced the keys of the piano, bringing music and joy to those around her. Additionally, she found solace in fishing and cherished the tradition of Sunday lunches with her family.
Rosa's unwavering faith was evident in her lifelong membership at Russell Memorial Methodist Church, where she found spiritual guidance and a sense of community.
A woman of warmth, kindness, and compassion, Rosa's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to have known her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and genuine care for her family and friends.
