Funeral services for Ronald “Ronnie” Paul Smith, 70, of Grand Saline, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, February 21, 2020, at Silver Lake Baptist Church in Grand Saline. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood.
Ronald Paul Smith was born on January 14, 1950, in Edgewood, TX, to parents, Glen Hunter Smith, Sr. and Pauline Vickery Smith. He was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School, later attending Henderson County College. He married Carolyn Kay Tabraham at the Heritage Park in Edgewood on August 5, 1995, and they made their home in Grand Saline. Ronnie worked as a produce clerk for Walmart, Albertsons and Food Lion. He later retired from Brookshires in Grand Saline in 2011. Ronnie was a member of Silver Lake Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing bingo, word games and loved to cook.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Pauline Smith; brother, Larry Smith; nephew, Rusty Smith.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Carolyn Smith of Grand Saline; brothers, Mike Smith and wife, Sherri of Wills Point and Glen Smith and wife, Jeanie of Cedar Creek; along with four grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives.
