A memorial service for Rodney Lee Evans, 58, of Wills Point, TX, is scheduled for 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Stonepoint Church in Edgewood. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
Rodney passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, in Wills Point.
Rodney Lee Evans was born on April 4, 1962, in Dallas, TX, to parents, Grady Gene Evans and Wanda Jewel Roberts. He was a life-long resident of Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School. Rodney married Ginger Kay Rogers and they had two children, Jennifer and Heather. He was a carpet layer and was currently employed by Wills Point Independent School District in the grounds department. Rodney was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed being around his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Wanda Evans.
Rodney is survived by his daughters, Jennifer King and husband, Shane of Wills Point, Texas, and Heather Waymire and husband, Carey of Wills Point, Texas; brothers, Greg Evans and wife, Bunny of Stephenville, TX, Phil Evans and wife, Tanna of Edgewood, Texas, and Dickie Joe Roberts of Terrell, Texas; grandchildren, Kaylee King, Catch King, Bailee Waymire and Zoey Waymire; along with many nieces and nephews.
Rodney was a true friend to all that crossed his path. He never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand or check up on his family and friends. His warm, fun, and caring spirit will be truly missed.
