Robert Rhoades, Jr. Obituary

Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Rhoades, Jr. are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.

Robert J. “Bob” Rhoades, Jr., 78, passed away on January 1, 2026. He was born on November 26, 1947, in Akron, Ohio, to Robert J. and Betty Rhoades.

Bob proudly served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972. During his Naval career, he worked as a corpsman and lab technician at the Naval Hospital, dedicating himself to the care and well‑being of others. After completing his service, he moved to Arlington, Texas, where he attended the University of Texas at Arlington.

He went on to build a long and respected career as a laboratory medical technologist at various hospitals before transitioning into medical sales, where he continued to make a meaningful impact. Bob retired in 2017, closing a career marked by dedication, compassion, and professionalism.

In September 1984, Bob married the love of his life, Pam Miles, in Wills Point, Texas. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, partnership, and shared memories.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his in‑laws, Thurman and Lopez Miles; and his brother‑in‑law, Jerry Lyle.

He is survived by his wife, Pam; his children, Matt Rhoades (Edelia) and Nikki Brezik (James); and his grandchildren, Hannah Brezik, Liam Rhoades, and Owen Rhoades. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Lyle, as well as three nephews, Robert Lyn Lyle, Chris Lyle and Jamie Lyle. Bob leaves behind his devoted dogs, Chase and Lexy, who brought him great comfort and companionship.

Throughout his life, Bob had a deep love for music, especially the Eagles, Jimmy Buffett, and The Beatles. He enjoyed staying up late and playing records long into the night. Not only did he enjoy watching golf, but he also loved playing it and remained an avid golfer for many years. Bob was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan through every high and low. He enjoyed grilling, being in the sun, and spending time by the pool. He loved cars—especially his Datsun 280Z—and was remarkably handy, able to build just about anything he set his mind to.

Bob will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives he touched. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the traditions continued, and the love he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude, SPCA of Dallas or American Lung Association in his honor.
