Ricky Don Jackson

A celebration of life for Ricky Don Jackson, 66, of Edgewood, TX, is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Canton. Burial will be held at Small Cemetery.

Ricky passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022, at his home.

Ricky Don Jackson was born on May 29, 1955, in Naples, TX, to parents James Elbert Jackson and Lola Faye Story Jackson. He was raised in Omaha, TX, until moving to Edgewood in 1965. Ricky married Linda Diane Morris on January 19, 1974, and they remained in Edgewood where they made their home. He was employed as a mechanic for Sears for 18 years. From 1991-2000, he was self-employed as a mechanic in sand and gravel work. In July of 2000, he was employed by Nucor as a welder and retired in 2012. Ricky was a Volunteer Firefighter for the community of Edgewood for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton. Ricky enjoyed fishing, planting vegetable gardens every year and working in the yard, but most loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.    

He is preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Lola Faye Jackson; brother, Mark Allen Jackson.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Linda Jackson of Edgewood, TX; daughters, Jennifer McKibben and husband, Tommy of Canton, TX, Julie Biggerstaff and husband, Beau of Edgewood, TX, and Linda Jackson Martin and husband, Caleb of Canton, TX; brothers, James H. Jackson and wife, Janice of Hughes Springs, TX and Chuck Jackson and wife, Kay of Hughes Springs, TX; grandchildren, Cody McKibben and wife, Hannah, Bailee Gurley and husband, Clay, Taylor McKibben, Emilee Seale and fiancé, Chance Bell, Hailee Biggerstaff, Brian Lang and wife, Sierra, and Amanda Fenwick and husband, Chad; great grandchildren, Gus McKibben, Lane McKibben, Dallas Gurley, Zoey Lang, Ryan Lang and one on the way, Denver Faye Gurley; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Thorn; and numerous aunts and uncles.   

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood.
