Funeral services for Ricky Douglas, 63, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday evening.
Rick passed away July 15, 2022, at his home in Wills Point.
Ricky Wayne Douglas was born January 10, 1959, in Sherman, TX, to the late Bobby Ray Douglas and Betty Jean Aynes Hill. His family moved to Garland in 1969, where he graduated from Garland High School. Ricky moved to Wills Point in 1983 to make his home. He married Teresa Lynn Russell July 1, 1989, in Rowlett, TX. He was employed as a delivery driver for H&S Manufacturing in Rowlett and Wills Point Independent School District in maintenance. Rick served as a volunteer fire fighter for Wills Point for twelve years. He was of the Baptist faith. His passion in life was to love his wife unconditionally and to always make people happy and laugh out loud. Rick was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Douglas; mother and step father, Jean and Alvin Hill; infant sister, Patricia Ann Douglas; brother, Michael Ray Douglas; and mother and father in law, Bobby and Jean Russell.
Rick is survived by his wife of thirty three years, Teresa Douglas of Wills Point; his fur babies, Lex, Lulu and April; brother, Glenn Douglas of Quitman; sister-in-law, Monica Russell and husband James Valek of Ennis and Deanna Tyler and husband Chad of Sadler, TX; nieces and nephews, Kayla Douglas and husband Sean, Aiden Tyler, Keira Tyler, Raina Tyler, Brianna Valek, Christopher Douglas and wife Angela, Gracie Douglas, Addison Douglas, Troy Douglas, Carl Douglas, Dawn Hunsaker and Jana Golden; lifelong friends, John and Karen Spell of Wills Point and Ricky Russell of Lake Dallas; and many other relatives and friends.
