Funeral services for Richard (Rick) Balluch, 63, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home (1701 Goodnight Blvd, 75169) in Wills Point, TX. Burial will follow at Rick and Karla’s property, Rebel Ranch.
Rick passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, in Sunnyvale, TX.
Richard Eric Balluch was born on April 1, 1959, in WaKeeney, Kansas, to parents Rudolph (Rudy) Balluch and Helen Marie Stithem Balluch. He was raised in WaKeeney, where he graduated from Trego County High School in 1977. He attended Garden City Community College, later transferring to Wichita State University, and joined Kansas Eta Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Rick married the love of his life Karla Dawn Hollingsworth on September 30, 1989, where they made their home in Carrollton TX. He was a Police Officer for the City of Dallas of 35 years, raising to the rank of Senior Corporal, before retiring in 2017. Rick enjoyed supporting local youth sports, Wildcats football, Creekview and Turner high school sports. He also loved to support local agriculture students, sponsoring numerous cattle for FFA students. Rick relished the outdoors, whether by ranching, raising cattle, fishing and hunting. He spent many years involved in sports and recreational activities such as bowling, and softball. He was a proud police officer, father, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Hellen Balluch; Father-in-Law Donald (Joe) Hollingsworth; Nephew, Clayton Brown; and Great Niece, Layla Stamp.
Rick is survived by his wife, Karla Balluch of Wills Point, TX; sons, Kalum Balluch, Kodie Balluch and wife Chelsie Balluch, Daughter, Kelsey Balluch-Stewart and husband, Michael Stewart; sisters, Pam McNaught and husband, Joe, and Rulene Brown; brothers, Randy Balluch and wife Debbie, and Pat Balluch; grandchildren, Khloe and Caden Stewart; sister-in-law, Kelly Stamp and husband, Scott; brother-in-law, Kraig Hollingsworth and wife, Susan; mother-in-law, Blanche Hollingsworth; along with numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, January 13, 2023, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
