Born on December 18, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, Perry was the beloved child of Perry Randolph Salisbury and Dorothy Lee Kelsey Salisbury. His upbringing took place in Dallas, where he cultivated a strong foundation for his future endeavors. Nick's academic journey led him to Sunset High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1965. Eager to expand his knowledge, he pursued higher education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1970.

Nick's life took a significant turn when he answered the call to serve his nation in the United States Army. He displayed unwavering dedication and courage as he served with honor during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Nick embarked on a fulfilling career as a self-employed home builder. Throughout his life, he poured his passion and expertise into his work, leaving a lasting impact on the communities he served. Nick was not only a hardworking individual but also a person of faith. He embraced the teachings of the Baptist faith, finding strength and solace in his spiritual beliefs. Nick's love for nature manifested in his meticulously tended flower gardens, which brought him joy and served as a reflection of his appreciation for beauty.

In the circle of Nick's family, his presence will be dearly missed. He is survived by his sister, Carol Grammer, and her husband, Mike, of Allen, Texas. Nick's nieces, Jamie Michelle Whatley and Kristy Carol Hardiman, along with their husbands Trey and Aaron, respectively, were privileged to have shared their lives with their beloved uncle. Nick also leaves behind his cherished great nieces, Kayleigh Hardiman, Kinsley Hardiman, and Elle Whatley, as well as his great nephew, Hobbs Whatley.
