Peggy Jean Moore

A visitation for Peggy Moore, 87, of Wills Point, Texas, will be held from 5:00–7:00 PM, Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Peggy passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in Grand Saline.

Peggy Jean Blackmon was born on November 11, 1938, in Terrell, Texas, to Robert Lee Blackmon and Ruby Mae Blackmon. She was raised in Terrell, where she attended school. On January 7, 1955, Peggy married Frederick “Fred” Moore, and they made their home in Grand Prairie before returning to Wills Point over 60 years ago.

Peggy was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. She found great joy in supporting her children and grandchildren in their sports and activities. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Peggy also loved to travel, especially camping, and enjoyed gambling trips in Las Vegas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruby Blackmon; her husband, Fred Moore; her son, Richard Moore; her brother, Robert Blackmon; and her sister, Opal Byrd.

Peggy is survived by her son, Freddy Moore and wife Gwen of Wills Point; daughter, Tanna Evans and husband Phil of Wills Point; daughter-in-law, Sherry Moore of Wills Point; sister, Shirley Morgan of Terrell; six grandchildren, Meredith Harris, Julia Bullard and husband Nathan, Ryan Evans and wife Stephanie, Matt Evans, Riley Moore, and Zachary Moore and wife Tess; and seven great-grandchildren, Malana Harris, Kase Evans, Kinley Evans, Ruby Bullard, Abby Bullard, Lily Bullard, and Riverlyn Burnett. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
