Funeral services for Paul Merten, 82, of Wills Point, TX, is scheduled for 11:00AM, Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
Paul passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at his home.
Paul Fredric Merten was born on August 26, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY, to parents Fred William Merten and Martha Catherine Michel Merten. He was raised in Brooklyn before moving to Texas. Paul married Patricia Ann Heath on June 20, 1964, and they made their home in Grand Prairie until moving to Wills Point in 1983. He was an engineer working for Associated Air Center at Dallas Love Field Airport. Paul was a sports fanatic, a terrific artist and recently enjoyed online gaming.
He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Martha Merten; and wife, Patricia Heath Merten.
Paul is survived by his sons, Steve Merten of Wills Point, TX, and Jim Merten and wife Belinda of Wills Point, TX; grandchildren, Trevor William Merten, Shay Michael Merten, Grant Paul Merten, Ryann Elise Nabors, Kamrin Jaycee Merten and Chyler Jade Merten.
