A graveside service for Patsy “Pat” Ann Staton, 90, of Edgewood, Texas, is scheduled for 11:30 AM, Friday, March 19, 2021, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
Pat passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, in Grand Saline, TX.
Patsy Ann Huffman was born on January 15, 1931, in Okolona, Arkansas, to parents, James Donald Huffman and Mary Park Huffman. She attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR where she met Harold Staton and they were married on August 20, 1952. Pat was employed by Fruitvale Independent School District as a teacher for thirty years before retiring. She has lived in the Edgewood community since 1967. Pat was a member of Cheatham Memorial United Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Huffman; husband, Harold Glen Staton; son, James Michael Staton; sister, Billie Lewis.
Pat is survived by her daughter, Susan Bates and husband, Kenneth of Myrtle Springs, TX; son, Harold “Hal” Glen Staton, Jr. of Edgewood, TX; daughter, Staci Dunn and husband, Robby of Canton, TX; sister, Betty Wingfield of Arkadelphia, AR. Ten grand kids; Kris Staton (Teneha), Andrea Bates Faries (Paul), Michelle Bates Petrey (Matt), Amy Bates, Conner Staton, Cameron Staton, Tyler Staton (Tiffany), Katie Staton, Madelyn Dunn and Morgan Dunn. Eleven great grand kids; Colton and Caden Petrey, Jayci and Bailee Coffman, Kendall and Preston Faries, Carter and Calyn Bates, Chase Staton, James and Gabriella Staton; Two great-great grand kids; Levi Petrey and Maria Lewis.
Pat will be remembered most for her love of family, antique shopping, Bunco and Bingo game days, Book Club meetings, and early morning coffee visits at the church.
