Michael Charles Boggs

Funeral services for Michael Charles Boggs, 82, of Edgewood, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00, AM, Saturday, November 27, 2021, at New Beginning Baptist Church in Edgewood.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Michael passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021, in Tyler.

Michael Charles Boggs was born on October 23, 1939, in Dallas, TX, to parents C.W. Boggs and Zelma Lee Taylor Boggs. He was raised in Dallas where he attended school. Michael married Janell Morris in Dallas on January 25, 1980, and they lived in Seagoville until moving to Edgewood in 1984 to make their home. He worked for Frito Lay for 26 years and was also self employed as a hay bailer. Michael was a member of the New Beginning Baptist Church for many years. He coached his granddaughter’s soft ball team, loved to cook and play golf.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Boggs and Zelma Cory; sons, Chip Pickrell and Steve Pickrell; brother, Ronny Smith; brother-in-law, Don Burns; sister-in-law, Mary Morris.

Michael is survived by his wife, Janell Boggs of Edgewood, TX; sons, Charles Boggs and wife, Marrianne of Florida and Jeffrey Pickrell and wife, Dei of Fruitvale, TX; daughters, Megan Garner and husband, Garland of Edgewood, TX, Sandi Rushing and husband, Larry of Campbell, TX, and Paige Pickrell of Edgewood, TX; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Morris of Dallas, TX, and Billy Morris and wife, Marlene of Lake Fork, TX; sisters-in-law, Beverly Smith of Hope, AR, Linda Burns of Edgewood, TX, Brenda Reynolds and husband, Gene of Edgewood, TX, and Judy Smith and husband, Jerry of Edgewood, TX; grandchildren, Kristen Capps, Rachel Cox, Jaci Hammon, Xavier Land, Zachary Pickrell, Malaki Pickrell and Doni Ferrell; along with twenty-two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, November 26, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood.
