Funeral services for Meda Frances Clay, 100, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, January 31, 2020, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.
Meda passed away Monday, January 27, 2020, in Plano.
Meda Frances Patterson was born on August 24, 1919, in Wilmer, TX, to parents, Guy Patterson and Sarah Frances Birkhead Patterson. She was raised in Wilmer where she attended Wilmer Hutchins High School. Meda married Claude C. Clay on December 23, 1937, in Dallas. They lived in Dallas, Wilmer and Odessa before making their home in Wills Point in 1975. Meda was a homemaker all of her life while raising their daughters. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Wills Point.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Sarah Patterson; husband, Claude Clay; son-in-law, J.C. McDaniel; three brothers and three sisters.
Meda is survived by her daughters, Carolyn McDaniel of Chandler, TX, and Peggy Throneberry and husband, Virgil of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Jim McDaniel and wife, Angela, Scott McDaniel and wife, Maci, Dana DiBassie and husband, Dean, Brant Throneberry and wife, Jenny, and Lori Summerford and husband, Rusty; great grandchildren, Jeremy Rhodes, Brieann Olafsson and husband, Jared, Dillon DiBassie, Dakota DiBassie, Ashley Thon and husband, Travis, Natalie Throneberry, Shannon Moncier and husband, Dustin and Kendall Schmidt and husband, Andy; great-great grandchildren, Destyn DiBassie, Daelyn DiBassie, Scarlett Thon, Stella Thon and Kamryn Moncier.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time.
