Funeral services for May Bell Hindman Robertson, of Edgewood, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 23, 202, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Edgewood. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Services are under direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood, TX.
May Bell passed away December 20, 2020, in Tyler, TX.
Wanda May Bell Hindman Robertson was born October 21, 1931, in Edgewood, to the late Ira Birnam Hindman and Nancy Minnie Bell Farthing Hindman. She graduated from Edgewood High School and then married the love of her life, James “Bigfoot” Harold Robertson on October 26, 1951, near the Edgewood community. They made their home in Grand Prairie and in 1984, May Bell and James relocated to their childhood home of Edgewood, where they started Robertson Trucking Company. May Bell was a homemaker and a member of the Fidelis Class at the First Baptist Church in Edgewood.
May Bell enjoyed crafts, gardening and collecting Barbie Dolls. She was also an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Robertson; parents, Ira Birnam Hindman and Nancy Minni Bell Farthing Hindman; brothers, Frankie Hindman, Billy Paul Hindman, B.B. Hindman and R.C. Hindman; and a sister, Inez Hindman.
May Bell is survived by her daughter, Vicki Martin of Edgewood; sister-in-law, Verdine Hindman of Granbury; grandchildren, Brittany Minix, Graham Minix, Caleb Martin and wife Linda, and Machelle Stogner and husband Foy; five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior t service time.
