Funeral services for Mary Lydonia Weeks, 90, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Monday, December 6, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Creagleville Cemetery.
Mary passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at her home.
Mary Lydonia Raymond was born on May 19, 1931, in Grand Saline, TX, to parents, Charlie Gilbert Raymond and Martha Bernice Tharp Raymond. She was raised in Grand Saline where she attended Grand Saline High School. Mary married Johnny Weeks on September 6, 1947, and they raised four children. She and Johnny moved to Wills Point thirty-six years ago. Johnny preceded her in death in 2008. Mary was of the Christian faith. She loved spending time with her family, reading her bible and enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Martha Raymond; husband, Johnny Weeks, Sr.; son, Johnny Weeks, Jr.; daughter, Belinda Saxon; sons-in-law, Roger Saxon and David Wheeler; sister, Betty Ann Raymond; brothers, Charles “UNK” Raymond and Jimmy Don Raymond; grandson, Chris Cannon; great grandson, Chase Saxon.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Dian Wheeler of Wills Point, TX; son, Ronnie Weeks of Fallon, MO; brothers, Zackey Raymond and wife, Carol of Alba, TX and Ben Raymond of Houston, TX; daughter-in-law, Linda Weeks of Woodville, TX; grandchildren, Rhonda Craft of Terrell, TX, Rodney Saxon and wife, Christy of Wills Point, TX; Michael Saxon of Terrell, TX, John Weeks III and wife, Rachelle of Woodville, TX, Jerry Weeks of Woodville, TX, Shawn Cannon of Fallon, MO, Danyelle Grace of Fallon, MO, David Wheeler and Cassie Mosley of Grand Saline, TX, Dawn Wheeler and Chance Spencer of Wills Point, TX and Elizabeth Thompson and husband, Michael of Edgewood, TX; with twenty-four great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM, Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
