Mary passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2024, in Rockwall.

Mary Elizabeth White was born on July, 23 1932, in Edgewood, TX, to parents James Alfred White and Clara Dee Adams White. She was an accomplished seamstress and worked in the sewing factory in Edgewood and later served as supervisor at a sewing factory in Point, TX. Mary was active in her Sunday school class at First Baptist Church in Edgewood and previously attended Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Edgewood. Mary made many crocheted items that were sold by her Sunday school class with proceeds funding their group’s many benevolence projects. She was also a good cook and loved cooking for her family, serving countless pots of coffee and plates of cooking to anyone who stopped by. Her family enjoyed her many pies, often making each family members’ favorite.

Mary loved playing 42 and shopping with her daughter or her best friend, Christine Kidd. She had a talent with plants and grew African Violets. Mary could even keep a Poinsettia alive all year long. She enjoyed country drives and seeing exotic animals, but the thing she did best was loving her Savior and her family. Mary and John Wesley Pendleton were married on December 2, 1947, and had a wonderful marriage for 76 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dickie Eugene Pendleton, who died in infancy; brothers, Leonard Rusk, Garland White, Elton White and Buddy White; sisters, Marie White Luttrell and Lola White Morris.

Mary is survived by her husband, John Wesley Pendleton formerly of Edgewood, TX; children, Larry Pendleton and wife Wynona of Edgewood, TX, and  Charlotte Cox and husband David of Terrell, TX; grandchildren, Brad Pendleton and wife Debra of Canton, TX, and Adam Pendleton and wife Jill of Royse City, TX, Kelley Pendleton Clements and husband Brian of Canton, TX, Amanda Cox of Dallas, TX, and Andy Cox and wife Courtney of Terrell, TX,; great grandchildren, Erica and Jay Fontenot of Canton, TX, Garrett and Aryn Wilkerson of Canton, TX, Jolie and John Crow of Canton, TX, Monte Pendleton of Wills Point, TX, Allyson Pendleton of Royse City, TX and Cassidy Pendleton of Royse City, TX; along with 10 great great-grandchildren.
