Mary Katherine Jackson

Graveside services for Mary Katherine Jackson, 90, of Elmo formerly of Edgewood, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 am, Friday, July 2, 2021, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood.  Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Mary passed away June 28, 2021, at Crestwood Nursing Home in Wills Point.

Mary Katherine Grant was born on August 7, 1930, in Fruitvale, TX, to parents, Thomas M. Grant and Maggie Mae Wright Grant. Mary married Lee Roy Jackson on February 22, 1947. She was employed by Alcatel in Rockwall for thirty-three years as lead personnel before retiring in 1986. In 1987, Mary and Lee Roy moved to the Edgewood community to make their home. She was a member of First Baptist Church and did her best to live a Christian life. Mary loved her children unconditionally.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Maggie Grant; husband, Lee Roy Jackson; infant daughter, Marlee Jackson; daughter, Carol Copeland; sister, Lorene Webb Kurtz.

Mary is survived by her son, Allan Roy Jackson of Elmo, TX; sisters, Shirley Bailey of Conroe, TX, Opal Marion of Athens, TX, and Jean Marion of West Tawakoni, TX; brother, Thomas Grant of Duncanville, TX; brother-in-law, Coy Jackson of Rockwall, TX; along with many nieces and nephews, family and friends.
