Mary Ann Henson, 79, a longtime resident of Grand Saline, TX, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2023. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at the Round Flat Pentecostal Church in Fruitvale. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation period one hour before the ceremony. Hiett's Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point is entrusted with the arrangements.
Mary Ann Stanley was born on August 3, 1944, in Grand Saline, TX, to her loving parents, Lewis Stanley and Grace Lovette Stanley. She spent her formative years in Grand Saline and proudly graduated from Grand Saline High School, where she held the honor of 4-H Queen. On July 7, 1962, Mary married Joe Henson, and together, they initially made their home in Arlington before eventually settling in Terrell.
Mary pursued a career as a waitress for many years before dedicating herself to the role of a homemaker, where she lovingly raised their family. Mary and Joe later went their separate ways and she relocated to Wills Point. She was a faithful member of the Round Flat Pentecostal Church in Fruitvale. Mary was known for her affection for her cherished dachshund companion, Cocoa. She had a deep love for her family, relished the art of cooking, and was an enthusiastic participant in garage sales.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Grace Stanley, her grandson Jason Montgomery, and her brothers, Duke Stanley and his wife Frances, Alfred Stanley and his wife Lou, as well as, Perry Stanley, who passed away at birth.
Mary's memory will be cherished by her surviving family, including her son, Marty Henson, and his wife, Rashelle, of Memphis, TN; her daughters, Renee Sharp of Edgewood, TX, and Traci Henson of Wills Point, TX; her grandchildren, Christopher Crutcher, Brittani Hailey, Andrea Paredes, and Anna Paredes; and her great-grandchildren, Tori, Ariel, and Bubba.
Mary Ann Henson will be remembered for her warm heart, dedication to family, and her many interests and passions. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
