Funeral services for Mary Ann Cowley, 68, of Benbrook, Texas, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will be held at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.
Mary passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021, at her home.
Mary Ann Sapp was born on February 8, 1953, in Dallas, TX, to parents, Harold and Ruby Sapp. She was raised in Quinlan where she attended school. Mary enlisted in the United States Air Force and served her country as an X-Ray Technician. She married David Cowley, Sr. in Fort Worth, TX on September 26, 1981, and they lived in Parker County. Mary was later employed by the post offices in Fort Worth and Weatherford as a clerk first and then as a carrier for many years before retiring in 2005. She was of the Baptist faith. Mary enjoyed quilting and gardening and loved to watch DIY shows.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruby Sapp; three brothers; daughter, Linda Hawthorne; and grandson, Chaney Hawthorne.
Mary is survived by her husband, David Cowley of Benbrook, TX; sons, David Cowley, Jr. of Benbrook, TX, and Kevin Hawthorne and wife, Alicia of Haltom City, TX; step daughter, Brandi Ketcherside of Benbrook, TX; sister, Linda Reeves and husband, John of Argyle, TX; along with six grandchildren.
