Graveside services for Marlys Anna Perry, 76, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Small Cemetery in Edgewood. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Marlys passed away at her home on December 25, 2020.

Marlys Anna Carlson was born on January 29, 1944, in Minneapolis, MN, to her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Russell Carlson. She was raised in South Dakota where she attended school through the 11th grade. Marlys married Billy Wayne Perry at Pleasant Union Baptist Church in the Small Community of Edgewood in 1983. She was a nurse’s aide at Crestwood Nursing Home in Wills Point and Country Trails Nursing Home in Grand Saline. Marlys was of the Baptist faith. She loved crafts, sewing, painting and drawing.

She is preceded in death by her father, Marvin Russell Carlson; her husband, Billy Wayne Perry; brothers, James Carlson and Marvin Carlson, Jr.

Marlys is survived by her sons, James Antell and wife, Floretina and Shawn Antell; brother, Stanley Carlson; sisters-in-law, Trish Marical of Edgewood, Frances Cupit of Denton and Charlotte Speer of Alba; along with many nieces and nephews.
