Mark Wayne Clark

Memorial services for Mark Wayne Clark, 78, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Stonepoint Church in Wills Point. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Arrangements were made under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Burial will be held later at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.

Mark passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, in Dallas.

Mark Wayne Clark was born on August 13, 1944, in Dallas, TX, to parents, Andrew Roland Clark and Nelle Rose Wheat Clark. He was raised in Oak Cliff where he graduated from Sunset High School. Mark served his country in combat action in Vietnam.  Mark married Beverly Gene Jones on December 23, 1971, in Irving. He was a mechanic in the automobile industry for most of his life.

Mark and Beverly raised their three children in Irving, Tx and were active in First Baptist Church for 40 years, where they taught in the college department.  While working in the college dept they discovered a passion for serving the Lord and others in the mission field on numerous trips to Central America.  

They moved to the Wills Point community in 2012, to make their forever home, where Mark continued to use his gifts serving others in the community along with local mission trips. While in the Wills Point area he became a member of Stonepoint Church in 2013.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Rose Clark; brothers, Kenneth, Donald and Gary Clark.

Mark is survived by his wife, Beverly Clark of Wills Point, TX; son, Billy Clark and wife, Tina of Garland, TX; son, Brett Clark of Dallas, TX; son, Phil Clark and wife Erin of Saginaw, TX; brother-in-law, Kenneth Jones and sister-in-law, Jacqui of Wills Point, TX; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
