Funeral services for Marion Louise Teague, 100, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery.
Marion passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Marion Louise Brooks was born on July 6, 1922, in Hampton Station, TN, to parents Arthur Selton Brooks and Charlie Whitfield Nolen. She was raised in Nashville, TN, completed eight grade but was unable to continue high school due to financial circumstances. Marion married Curtis Teague on January 6, 1943, in Anniston, Alabama, and they made their home in Henderson, TX, after he had completed his WWII service duty in Camp Shelby, MS. Marion was a homemaker while raising their three children. Upon retirement, Marion and Curtis moved from Mississippi to the Wills Point community in 1974, to live close to their children in Texas. Curtis preceded her in death in 1978. Marion was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Adult V Sunday School Class. She enjoyed singing in church choir, helping others, volunteering, playing dominoes with friends in their homes and later with residents in Crestwood Assisted Living Facility.
She is preceded in death by her husband Curtis Teague; parents, Selton and Charlie Brooks; siblings, Ruth Williams, Leroy Brooks, Jeane Greene, Charles Brooks, William (Billy) Brooks; Nancy Hunter/Ortiz, and Evelyn White; daughter in law, Cheryl Teague.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Nancy Teague-Horner and husband James, of St Petersburg, FL; son, Donald Ray Teague and wife and Gaye and grandson, Justin Teague and wife Lisa; 4 four great grandchildren of Wichita Falls, TX; son, Jerry Dean of Plano, TX; grandsons, Peter W and Amy (Gray)Walker, of Alexandria, VA, Curtis A Walker, of Garland, Tx and more that seventeen nieces and nephews.
