Peggy Deen Grant, of Plano, Texas, passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born Margaret Robin Deen on November 8, 1946, in California, to the late Nancy and Jack Deen 0f Wills Point, Texas. Peggy was the oldest of eight children raised on the Deen Dairy in Wills Point, where she graduated from Wills Point High School in 1965. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Home Economics and majored in Fashion Design and Merchandising from North Texas State University in 1969. She was a talented designer of women’s clothing for Herman Marcus, On the Verge and later became a self employed creative clothing designer winning awards on a local and national level.
In 1980, Peggy married Richard Grant in Dallas, and they made their home in Plano. Peggy had a passion for crocheting, needlepoint, and cross-stitch, and was known for her artistic abilities. She was of the Baptist faith. Peggy loved her entire family very much.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Nancy Deen, and her step-son, Daniel Grant.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Richard Grant of Plano step-daughters, Susan Grant of Wylie, Janet Grant of Dallas, and Kathy Grant of Little Elm; step-sons, Robert Grant of California, and Ken Grant and wife Martha of Plano; siiblings, Jackie Ragland and husband Keith of Wills Point, John Deen and wife Linda of Wills Point, George Deen and wife Lenna of Dallas, Nancy Deen Giles of White Lake, Michigan, and Patty Brightwell of Wills Point, Bobby Deen and wife Debbie of Wills Point and Richard Deen and wife Cathy of Edgewood; grandchildren; great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Peggy will be remembered for her loving nature, creative spirit, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
