A celebration of life for Lucy Harmon Baker, 82, of Richardson, TX, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, October 15, 2021, at Hiett’s Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Lucy Crawford Harmon was born October 28, 1938; the daughter of Ben Harmon and Lucy Harmon. They made their home in University Park in Dallas, TX. Lucy entered eternal life on October 6, 2021; she was 82 years young.
Lucy graduated high school from Highland Park in 1956. Sometime between 1956 and 1960, she met the boy’s father, Johnny Clark. She and Johnny began to raise their family in 1961 having a total of 4 sons. Most of Lucy’s activities surrounded the boys. She played an avid role in Northwest Garland Little League helping the boys and their baseball activities. As well as, keeping the boys out of trouble as they were always up to know good.
In 1976, she and Johnny went their separate ways in life and soon after, she met and married Jerry Baker. Lucy and Jerry were married for 25 years living in Garland, TX until Jerry’s passing in 2002. She continued to reside in Garland, TX for over 60 years. The house held so many memories of where she raised all four sons.
Lucy was employed at Irving Tool and Manufacturing where she worked for over 35 years in shipping and receiving. She retired from her long-standing position at the age of 78. Lucy picked the nickname Nanny and she was known as Nanny to most all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and even to all of her son’s friends. She was a kind and generous lady. After retiring, she loved to feed the stray cats that would position themselves at her backdoor daily.
Lucy is preceded in death by her father Ben Harmon, mother Lucy Harmon, brother Ben Harmon Jr. and husband Jerry Baker.
She is survived by her sons John K. Clark, Gregory W. Clark, Bradly B. Clark, Ronald K. Clark and their wives Kandice, JoAnn and Carmen. Grandchildren Jacob, Chris, Cody, Katie, Taylor, Tristen, Justin and Jordan. Great grandchildren Kenley, Nathan, Cameron, Cayden, Braelyn, Aamilah and Carson.
Lucy will be missed by us all. Let your tears be known that your mom, grandma and friend is at peace with her God and is surrounded by those that have passed before her.
We love you Nanny, always.
