Linda Sue (Ticer) Martinez

A memorial service for Linda Martinez, age 73, of Wills Point, TX, will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Linda passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

Born August 1, 1951, in Lubbock, TX, Linda Sue Ticer was the daughter of Tommy Ticer and Margaret Little Ticer. She grew up in Spur, TX, and graduated from Irving High School. On April 2, 1977, she married Rick Martinez in Wills Point, and together they built a life in Dallas before moving to Wills Point to raise their family.

Linda worked for a time as a data entry clerk at the Wills Point Chronicle, but her heart was always in her home, where she devoted herself to her family as a loving wife, mother, and “Nana.” She was a woman of Christian faith, a gifted artist, and a nurturing soul with a green thumb. Whether painting, cross-stitching, crafting, or gardening, Linda found joy in creating beauty and sharing it with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Margaret Ticer, and her sisters, Tommie Ann Rains and Kay Wolfrum.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Rick Martinez of Wills Point; her children, Misty Pierot (Jimmy) of Wills Point, Heather Cleaver (Nathan) of Canton, Valari Martinez of Plano, Rick Martinez, Jr. (Stacy) of Royse City, and Anthony Martinez (Jennifer) of Corpus Christi. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: De-De, Taylor, Connor, Sierra, Allison, Avari, Brian, Elizabeth, Zach, Amber, Cassie, Kortnee, Kyle, and Dylan; and ten great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Linda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
