Linda Joy MacNelly

Funeral services for Linda Joy Mac Nelly, 81, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for Monday, February 6, 2023, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be held at 12:00 Noon and service time at 2:00.  Burial will be held at the Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Grand Prairie, TX, Thursday, February 9, 2023, at 1:00 pm.

Joy passed away January 30, 2023, in Tyler, TX.

Linda Joy MacNelly, a fine devout Christian woman, was born January 5, 1942, and was raised in Ft. Worth, TX, by her parents, Grover Cleveland Beck and Delma Clara Beck.  She married John Cookman MacNelly August 30, 1986, in Ft. Worth where they made their home and raised five children.  Upon retirement, John and Joy moved to Wills Point in 2010.  Joy was a faithful member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Edgewood.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, fishing and raising a herd of longhorns.

She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as, her sons, Thomas Ray Ragsdale and Roger Allen Ragsdale; brothers, Lloyd Ray Harper and C.L. Beck.

Joy is survived by her husband of 37 years, John C. MacNelly of Wills Point; son, David Lee Ragsdale and wife, Rhonda of Point, TX; daughters, Carri Ann Slaughter of Millsap, TX, Sherri Lea Parris and husband Jackie, of Brock, TX, daughter-in-law, Lisa Kay Ragsdale of Lantana, TX; brother, Grover Lee Beck and wife Earline, of Godly, TX; fifteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
