Funeral services for Leah Raye Hendrix, 83, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Small Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
Leah passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2022, after a long battle with dementia.
Leah Raye Covington was born on October 2, 1939, in Wills Point, TX, to parents Ben H. Covington and Rushie A. Freeman. She was raised in Wills Point and attended Wills Point High School. Leah was married in 1957, and had two children, James Malcom and Meleah Jane and they made their home in Mesquite, TX. She was a lithographer for various printing companies in Dallas for twenty-three years before she retired. Leah was of the Baptist faith and loved the Lord. She loved singing gospel hymns and talking to her bird Squeaky. She loved gardening and working in her yard. She also enjoyed traveling and was an avid Texas Ranger and Dallas Cowboys fan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Rushie Covington; sister, Lula Belle Covington; and son, James Hendrix
Leah is survived by her daughter, Meleah Lamb and husband, Chuck of Mesquite, TX; granddaughter, Monica Campanozzi and husband, Trever of Mansfield, TX; great grandchildren, Oliver and Sutton Campanozzi; sister, Celinda Anderson of Wills Point, TX; nieces, Elizabeth McFarland and husband, Ronnie of Wills Point, TX, and Amber Massey and husband, Sam of Wills Point, TX; great nephew, Clayton Lowry and great nieces, Laynee and Corlee Massey.
