Laurie Lynn Madsen

Laurie Lynn Madsen, 66, of Dallas, TX, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024. Arrangements were made under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Born on September 24, 1958, in Farmers Branch, TX, Laurie was the cherished daughter of Lee Vernon Hatfield and Pauline Hatfield. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, a place that nurtured her passion for life. In 1982, she married the love of her life, Owen Madsen, and together they built a family filled with love and laughter.

Laurie had a successful career as a real estate manager, but her true passions lay outside of work. She had a deep love for politics, a flair for barbecuing, and above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by the people she loved most.

Laurie is reunited in heaven with her beloved parents and her son, Garrett Madsen, whom she held close in her heart.

She is survived by her devoted son, Owen Michael Madsen, and his wife, Jessica, of Aubrey, TX; her loving daughter, Lauren Madsen of Dallas, TX; her brother, David Hatfield, and his wife, Barbara Williams, of South, TX; and her grandchildren, Dorian, Garrett, Gideon, Jack, Angela, and August, who will carry her memory forward with love and pride.

Laurie’s warmth, generosity, and love of family will forever be missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
