Funeral services for LaVerne Allen Coleman, 91, Formerly of Magnolia, Texas, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery in Wills Point, Texas.
LaVerne passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2024, in The Woodlands, Texas.
LaVerne Allen was born on August 28, 1933, in Minter, Texas, to parents Byron Festus Allen and Annie Davis Hause. After graduating from Blossom High School in 1951, LaVerne attended business school and married Robert Eugene Coleman on June 1, 1957, in Blossom, Texas. LaVerne and Robert made their home in Keller, Texas for 28 years. LaVerne’s employment included working in the food services department of Keller ISD. In 1993, she and Robert settled in the Wills Point, Texas community. They relocated to Wolfe City, Texas in 2015. After Robert passed away in 2019, LaVerne relocated to Keller, Texas in 2021 and then to Magnolia, Texas in 2023.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Annie Allen; husband, Robert Eugne Coleman; daughter Juanita Coleman Coker, sisters Annie Mae Allen, Francis Juanita Allen, and Euna Irene Allen and brothers Orville Dean Allen, Lois John Allen and Floyce John Allen.
LaVerne is survived by brothers Bryon Allen Jr., Mahlon Elder Allen (Christine) and Raymond Felton Allen (JoAnn) her son, Mike Coleman of Keller, Texas and daughter Lorinda Mital (Aroon) of Magnolia, Texas; grandson Nate Mital (Laila) of Spring, Texas, granddaughter Emily Mital Cox (Cooper) of College Station, Texas, great-grandsons Theo Mital, Zizka Mital and great-grand-daughters Valencia Mital and Jemma Cox.
The pallbearers will be Tony Allen, Johnny Allen, Eddie Stephenson, Gerald Stephenson, Richard Coleman and Nate Mital.
Visitation will be held from 6:30-8:00 PM, Friday, September 13, 2024, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point, Texas.
