A graveside service for LaBrenda Sawyer, 77, of Caddo Mills, TX, is scheduled for 10:30 AM, Friday, February 21, 2020, at Woodside Cemetery in Grand Saline. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
LaBrenda passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020, in Quitman.
LaBrenda Joslin Sawyer was born on June 3, 1942, in Grand Saline, TX, to parents, Dixie Joslin and Dorothy Weathers Joslin. She was raised in Grand Saline and graduated from Grand Saline High School. LaBrenda later attended Eastfield College and obtained a business degree. She married Thomas Sawyer in 1961, in Grand Saline. They lived in the Sand Flat Community and other various cities due to Thomas’s employment. LaBrenda worked as a beautician for many years and was then employed by Eastfield College as a testing coordinator for twenty-two years. She followed the Native American Indian spirituality. LaBrenda enjoyed making jewelry, reading and spending time with family. She loved her fur babies Smiler, Skeeziks, Brandy and Aspen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dixie and Dorothy Joslin and her husband, Thomas Sawyer.
LaBrenda is survived by her son, Dennis Sawyer and wife, Sherrie of Quitman, TX; daughter, Dixie Renaie Adcock and husband, Dennis of Caddo Mills, TX; brother, Gary Joslin and wife, Fern of Grand Saline, TX; grandchildren, Leland Sawyer and wife, gina and Samantha Mault and husband, Dillon Powers; four great grandchildren, Adalyn, Bently, Kristopher and Brendan.
