Kelles Miller Obituary

A celebration of life for Kelles Miller, 93, of Wills Point, TX, is scheduled for 12:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Russell Memorial Methodist Church. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Services are under the direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home. 

Kelles Alton Miller was born December 6, 1932 in the Hayden Community.  He was the son of Jim Miller and Viola Guess.  Kelles died April 24, 2026 in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Kelles attended grades 1-8 in Hayden Community and graduated from Wills Point High School in 1950.  Kelles was a star basketball player and continued to play basketball for much of his adult life.  He had a beautiful baritone voice, having taken voice lessons in high school, and was asked to sing at his high school graduation ceremony.  Kelles continued to use his musical talents by singing with quartets and leading the music at many county revivals and community events. In the 1970’s and 80’s Kelles became a popular square-dance caller.

Kelles married Elizabeth Hargrove in 1950, and raised five children in Wills Point: Suzanne, Jay, Beverly, Tammy and Kelles, Jr (Chip).

In 1987, Kelles married Glenda Joyner and raised two children in Edgewood and Wills Point:  Chad and Andie Kay.

Kelles was an active businessman and community leader.  He owned KM Plumbing, Kelles Miller Construction and Mountain Stream Pools.  He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Rotary International.  After retirement, he was elected Precent 3 Commissioner in Van Zandt County.

Kelles was preceded in death by his son: Jay Miller, daughter-in-law: Joyce Miller, step-son, Chad Joyner, granddaughter; Alyson Miller, brother, J.D. Miller and sister Zonell Skinner.

Kelles is survived by his wife, Glenda Miller of Mineral Wells; children, Suzanne Blasingame and husband Buck, Beverly Griffin and husband Jack, Tammy Brown and husband Buzzy, Chip Miller and wife Julie all of Wills Point, and step-daughter Andie Kay Kidwell and husband Richard of Mineral Wells and daughter-in-law Martie Miller of Corpus Christi.  He is also survived by grandchildren: Amy West, Randy Brandon, Rachel Bryant, Greg Pearson, Gabriel Pearson, Graham Pearson, Kristi Peterson, Mallory Malouf, Kyle Miller, Malori Wooten, Faith Joyner, and 22 great-grandchildren.
