On April 2nd, Kaye Anne Vermett, beloved wife, mother, grandma, and friend, passed away at the age of 83 years young. Kaye was born in Bowling Green, Ohio to Harry and Betty Kline. Betty married Donald Thompson in 1963 and became Kaye’s father for life. Kaye married Richard (Dick) Rood ( 1961 -1976). Then married Stan Vermett (1980- 2014).
After working numerous jobs she found her passion at te Wood County Sheriffs Department for the rest of her career. Kaye enjoyed many different things in life; sewing, cooking, and helping others was known by all. Being with family and friends was her biggest priority in life. She loved watching the grandkids/great grandkids play sports. She loved telling stories about her life, and had an incredible memory of detail. She never met a stranger and was never afraid to speak her mind. All who knew her would described her as humble, kind, and upfront. Kaye would give anyone the shirt off her back. She never missed sending a birthday or holiday card to her family and friends. Her knowledge will be passed down throughout the generations to come. Above all else, she was a loving and wonderful mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by Richard (Dick) Rood, her parents Harry Kline, Donald and Betty Thompson, late husband Stan Vermett, step-son Bruce Vermett, and brother Gary Kline.
Kaye’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Tim Rood and wife Kris Rood, Amy Stroud and husband Les Stroud, Danny Rood and wife Lisa Rood, Harold Rood, Ginny Smith and husband Paul Smith, Stanley Vermett and wife Denise Vermett, Joann Rouse. She is also survived by her sister Faye Hartwick (otherwise known as her womb mate) and sister Randa Williams and husband Leonard Williams. She had 13 grandkids and numerous great grandkids.
She will be forever in our hearts.
