A celebration of life for Juliette S. Myers, 70, of Wills Point, Texas, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Arrangements were made under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.
Juliette passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in Tyler, TX.
Juliette Smith was born in Wills Point on September 28, 1955, to Obie Smith, Jr. and Marie Starks Smith. She was raised in Wills Point and attended Cartwright School before graduating from Wills Point High School, Class of 1975.
Juliette married Gary Neal Myers and they had one son, Corey. They lived in Prayer Creek for a short time before separating. She and Corey moved back to Wills Point in 1979, where she had a house built to raise her son with a yard to play in. She studied and completed classes at Trinity Valley Community College in Kaufman to become a home health aide. She went on to specialize in hospice care for various companies, serving as a home health aide for more than 20 years before retiring.
Juliette was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Juliette enjoyed singing in the choir and especially leading the song “There’s a Leak in this Old Building”. Juliette was instrumental in her efforts with the Abagail International Missions, Cardboard Heros, Project Hope and the Genisis Women’s Center in Kaufman. She loved her flower beds, especially her roses. Juliette enjoyed fishing, but her specialty was coordinating family gatherings.
She is preceded in death by her father, Obie Smith, Jr.
Juliette is survived by her mother, Marie Starks Smith; son, Corey Myers, Sr.; brothers, Edward Charles Smith and Gary Smith; grandchildren, Ashanti Myers, Maceo Myers, Quentavian Myers, Corey Myers, Jr., and Kayman Martin; and great-grandchildren, Adonis Moreno Myers, Nova Moreno Myers, Maliah Ruiz, and Marcus Ruiz; along with numerous nieces, a nephew and other family members.
