Private funeral services for Joyce “Maurine” Pettigrew, 70, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Edgewood. The funeral home will be open from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, for those who would like to sign the register book.

Maurine passed away due to a brief illness on December 27, 2020, in Rowlett, TX.

Joyce Maurine Stone was born on February 10, 1950, in Fruitvale, TX, to parents, R.B. Stone and Letha Butler Stone.  She was raised in Fruitvale where she attended school and later graduated from Grand Saline High School. Maurine married Robert Pettigrew on August 20, 1971, at Round Flat Pentecostal Church in Fruitvale and they made their home in Edgewood. Maurine began her banking career at First National Bank in Wills Point in 1980, and her career in banking management spanned over thirty years. She also worked for Capital One before retiring in the year 2012. Maurine was of the Pentecostal faith. She served as a member of the Edgewood school board, the Chamber of Commerce and was involved in planning many Edgewood community functions. Maurine’s most important job was being Memaw to all of her family and friends. She never missed any of her children’s or grandchildren’s sporting events. She loved to fish, to be outdoors or anything with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, R.B. and Letha Stone and brother, Leroy Stone.

Maurine is survived by her husband, Robert Pettigrew of Edgewood, TX; daughters, Bree Woodrum and husband, Brian of Edgewood, TX, and Lee Arion and husband, Tim of Wylie TX; step-daughter, Stephanie White and husband, Gary of Crowley, TX; brother, Jerry R.B. Stone and wife, Diane of Wills Point, TX; sisters, Rachel Clair and husband, James of Quinlan, TX, and Anneta Buenger and husband, Greg of Newcastle, TX; grandchildren, Ariel Reynolds, Tucker Dolan, Jessica Woodrum, Trey Smith and Collin Smith; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
