Josie Bell Sanders, a compassionate soul whose life was a testament to love, care, and unwavering dedication, peacefully passed away on January 1, 2024, in Grand Saline, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.
Josie, born on September 15, 1938, in Edgewood, TX, was the beloved daughter of Willie Wilson and Levell Durrough Wilson. Raised in Edgewood, she graduated from Cartwright High School in 1957, as Valedictorian, embarking on a remarkable journey that would see her touch countless lives. Josie then went on to attend Jarvis C. College and chose a path of service and became a Certified Nursing Assistant, dedicating 22 years to the healthcare field before embracing a well-deserved retirement.
On February 11, 1995, Josie united in marriage with Arvis Joe Sanders, and together they established their home in Wills Point. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship.
Josie is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Levell Wilson, her husband, Arvis Joe Sanders, as well as her brothers, Charlie Wilson, Lester Lee Wilson, and James Willie Wilson; her sisters, Pearline Lewis and Dorothy Dunn and step-son, Lago Weaver.
Her memory lives on through those who cherish her, including step-daughters Linda Jo Webb and husband Sidney of Ft. Worth, TX, and Sharon Moore and husband Sam of Rosharon, TX, step-sons Krista Weaver and wife Annette of Como, NC. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, C.D. Wilson of Dallas, TX, sister Ruby Smith of Edgewood, TX, and a God-daughter, Shannon McClelland of Dallas, TX.
Josie Bell Sanders will find her eternal rest at Haven of Memories in Canton, TX.
Josie's kindness, generosity, and love will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her family find solace in the beautiful memories they shared.
