Funeral services for Joseph “Joe” Howard Lamb, 78, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Friday, April 1, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time.
Joe passed away on March 26, 2022, at his home in Edgewood.
Joseph Howard Lamb was born on May 5, 1943, in Tyler, TX, to parents Joseph Franklin Lamb and Claudia Elizabeth Adrian. He was raised all around East Texas on account of his father being a preacher. Joe graduated from Edgewood High School in 1961, and later obtained his Bachelor’s degree in History from University of Texas Arlington. He met Mary Beatrice Lay in 1958, and they married on June 4, 1961, at First Baptist Church Edgewood. Joe and Mary lived in Irving for a while before moving back to Edgewood in 1984. He retired in 2005, from Transportation Services, Inc. based in Mesquite. Joe was a member of the First Baptist Church in Edgewood. He enjoyed whittling and carving wood and loved working in the garden.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Claudia Lamb; infant sister, Elizabeth Ann.
Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Lamb of Edgewood, TX; sons, Jonathan David “J.D.” Lamb and wife, Della of Edgewood, TX, and Paul Lamb and wife, Angela of Edgewood, TX; daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Lamb of Burleson, TX; grandchildren, Jeremiah Lamb, Andrew and wife Ashley Randall, Jennifer Lamb, Venna Randall, Tyler Edwards, Daelyn and wife Taylor Lamb, Robert Lamb and Troy Lamb; great grandchildren, Jacob Lamb, Tearyn Hutcherson, Georgia DeShazo, Robert Alldredge, Ellie and Nolan Lamb, and Ayra and Aspyn Randall.
