Johnny Robert Rogers

Funeral Services for Johnny Rogers, 83, of Wills Point, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, August 23, 2024, at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time starting at Noon. 

Johnny Robert Rogers was born on November 15, 1940, in Wills Point, Tx, to parents, Cleveland Rogers and Octavia Dunn Rogers. He was a lifelong resident of Wills Point and attended Cartwright High School. Johnny married Fannie Rogers in September of 1963, and they had four children, all raised in Wills Point. He was employed by the United States Air Force, Texas Instruments, Wynne & Wynne and the United States post office. Johnny was Baptist by faith. He loved working outdoors and his two dogs Brandy and Max.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; sisters, Evelyn Sanders, Virginia Stafford, Ima Lyles, Bessie Earl Thomas, and Maxine Wynne; brothers, Julius Rogers, Johnny Booker Rogers, and Otis Tucker; along with his sons Manual Rogers, Alfred Sanders, and Robert Rogers.

Johnny is survived by his special friend Lilly Edwards; daughter, Vondella Rogers and Darrell of Edgewood; daughter, Lisa Lyons of Edgewood; son, Craig (Stevie) Rogers of Wills Point; son Christopher (Bubbie) Rogers and wife Christina of Wills Point;  sisters Shirley McKinney of Los Angeles, CA and Edith Rogers of Frisco; brother, Oscar Rogers of Wills Point; and many grandkids, nieces, and nephews.

Johnny passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, in Wills Point.
