John "Ellis" Robertson

John “Ellis” Robertson, 72, of Wills Point, TX, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

Born on February 9, 1953, at Baker Clinic in Wills Point, Ellis was the son of Mickey Blake Robertson, Sr., and Charlotte Campbell Robertson. A lifelong resident of Wills Point, he graduated from Wills Point High School in 1971 before attending Tyler Junior College. He later earned his accounting degree from the University of Texas in 1976.

Ellis began his career as an accountant with Texas Oil & Gas in Dallas before discovering his true passion in skilled trades. He became a Master Electrician and HVAC Technician, returning in 1981 to work in the family business, Robertson Electric, which had been serving the community since 1949. In 2010, he joined DART as an HVAC Technician, where he worked until his retirement in 2023.

On February 25, 1988, Ellis married the love of his life, Lendhie Lide, in Tyler, TX. Together, they raised their children in Wills Point, building a life rooted in family, hard work, and love.

A member of Russell Memorial Methodist Church, Ellis was a man of faith. He was an avid golfer and a passionate fan of Texas sports—especially anything related to the University of Texas. Whether cheering on the Longhorns, enjoying a round of golf, or spending time with family and friends, Ellis lived life with warmth and enthusiasm.

Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, Mickey Blake Sr. and Charlotte Robertson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lendhie Robertson of Wills Point, TX; his children, Cole Robertson and wife Sheena of College Station, TX, and Katie Chapman and husband Ryan of Forney, TX; his brothers, Mickey Blake Robertson, Jr. and wife Pam of Wills Point, TX, and Kyle Robertson and wife Terri of Canton, TX; grandchildren, Cash, Ella and Reese; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

There are no services planned at this time. A guest book will be available for signing at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, for those who wish to pay their respects.
