Jimmy Ray Watson

Funeral services for Jimmy Ray Watson, 59, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Friday, August 12, 2022, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time.

Jimmy passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at his home in Edgewood.

Jimmy Ray Watson was born on July 21, 1963, in Nacogdoches, TX, to parents Jimmy Watson and Patsy Ann Wilder Watson. He was raised in Center, TX, where he graduated from high school. Jimmy served his country enlisting in the United States Air Force. He moved to the Edgewood community over 40 years ago. Jimmy was a foreman for J & L Utilities for many years. He was of the Church of Christ faith. Jimmy was a sports fanatic, an avid reader and loved music.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Patsy Watson; niece, Amanda Haney.

Jimmy is survived by his former wife and companion, Alma Watson; step-son, Eddie Godina; sister, Lisa Sherwood and husband, Guy; niece and nephew, Michelle Haney and Bobby Bray; great nephews, Mario Garcia, Carlos Garcia and Miles Channell.
