Jimmy Martinez Obituary

Jimmy passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Jimmy Lee Martinez was born on June 20, 1976, in Dallas, Texas to Paul and Christine Martinez. He was a graduate from Wills Point High School in the class of 1995. Soon after graduation Jimmy enlisted in the Marines to serve a total of 4 years and was discharged as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. After he was discharged from the Marines he began working as a TSA officer at DFW Airport. He worked as a TSA Officer for 13 years. After his work for the airport he began a career with the United States Post Office in Kaufman as a MVP for 5 years.  He was revered and respected by all the people that he worked with and for, over his tenure with both government agencies.

Jimmy was a dedicated family man. He cherished his bond and relationship with the love of his life Carrie of 19 years.  Together they relished their time together supporting all their children in all of their activities.  He could be seen and more importantly HEARD at all of the events they participated in.  Jimmy enjoyed playing sports with his children whether he was the coach or on the sidelines being their number one fan. His family looked at him like he was Superman and in their eyes he was invincible. Jimmy had a very contagious laugh and a smile that would light up the room.  His positivity was also a character quality that was infectious, always displaying a positive attitude for others to embrace.  He had the most generous heart whether it was a broken down motorist or a neighbor in need.  You could find him mowing their yard or helping them move, he never met a stranger.  Jimmy was a diehard Cowboys fan, he supported them no matter what was going on. Jimmy loved being outdoors doing anything and everything from hunting, fishing, sports of all kind, and even some corn hole if you’d let him win occasionally.  Overall Jimmy was an amazing man and meant the world to so many people.  He will be forever missed, but never forgotten.  The Lord will have a special place for Jimmy in his Kingdom. “Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.”  John 16:22

He is survived by his wife Carrie Martinez, and their children Austin Martinez, Cason Martinez, and Cailor Martinez of Terrell. His parents Paul and Christine Martinez of Wills Point. His sister Connie Michelle Hernandez of Dallas, brother Paul Martinez, JR of Carrollton, brother Robert Martinez of Grand Prairie, brother Daniel Cavazos of Dallas, brother Joe Abraham Cavazos of San Antonio, and his sister Vicky Marie Martinez of Terrell.
